VC opens MU PG students’ union

Mangalore, Oct 15, 2014: Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof K Byrappa has said that the university would start Department of Fine Arts from next academic year.  Also, there is a proposal of releasing Mangalore University vision document. He was speaking after inaugurating Mangalore University post graduation student union for the year 2014-15, at Mangala Auditorium on ocober 14.

Students are real strength of the nation. Along with the academics, they should participate in extracurricular activities so that they can improve their skills and contribute to society. Mangalore University has made great achievement, especially in Physics and Chemistry. Both students and teaching staff have played a role in this achievement, he said.

University Registrar Prof P S Yadapadithaya said that the students have capacity to bring name and fame to the education institution. They should make use of the opportunities and design their future.

MU Directorate of Student Welfare Officer Dr P L Dharma administered oath to the members of the student union. Student Union President Shashikanth, Vice President Madhu, Secretary Puneeth, Joint Secretary Sachindra and others were present. Cultural programme followed the stage programme.
