Women convention on Oct 17

Mangalore, OCT 16, 2014: The National Women’s Front will organise a women’s convention for empowerment, at Loyola Hall in St Aloysius College on October 17 at 3.30 pm.   Addressing a press meet on october 15, National Women’s Front national committee member Shaheeda Tasneem said that National President Shaheeda Aslam will inaugurate the convention. Jyothi Guruprasad, Beary Sahitya Academy Member Zohara Abbas, Catholic Sabha President Flavia D’Souza will be the speakers at the convention.

Stating that women have not received equal representation in various fields, he said that the total number of women MPs in India is only 61. There is a need to find solution to the problems of malnutrition, sexual discrimination, sexual assault, honour killing, kidnap, forceful prostitution and dowry system.   The Front will also organise mega national level convention at Coimbatore on November 16.
