Two killed in road accidents in Udupi

Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2014:  A person was killed in a collision between a truck and a moped at Nadsal village under Padubidri police station limits on Monday.

The police said the truck was moving from Udupi to Mangalore, while the moped was crossing the road from East to West with the moped rider giving clear indication of his crossing it. But the truck driver drove the vehicle to extreme west and collided against the moped.

The two-wheeler driver Anand Rao, who was severely injured in the accident, was rushed to Adarsh Hospital in Udupi, where he died. A case had been registered at Padubidri police station and investigations were on.

Man killed in accident

A person was killed in a bus-motorcycle collision at Shirva on Monday night.

The police said the private bus was moving from Katapady to Shirva, while the motorcyclist Suresh Kulal was travelling in the opposite direction, when the collision took place near Karnataka Bank at Shirva. A severely injured Kulal died on the way to the hospital. Rash and negligent driving is said to be the cause of the accident. A case is registered at the Shirva police station.
