Mangaluru, Dec 03, 2014:  The  Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarathi Parishat (ABVP), Mangaluru Unit,  has impressed on DK DC  A B Ibrahim to arrange aid for  students who were injured in an accident involving a private service bus they were travelling in and a mini-truck at Nanthoor junction. The accident claimed the lives of two persons, including Umanath, 19, a student of Karnataka Polytechnic from Moodbidri and Ganesh, 26, a daily wage labourer from Gurupur, and left seven others injured.

City secretary of ABVP Jayesh said out of those injured in this accident, four - Umesh, Karthik, Latheesh and Herald D’Souza - are students hailing from economically weak sections of society and presently undergoing treatment at a private hospital here. Noting that it is not possible for them to meet the treatment expenses given their economic status, Jayesh urged the DC to not only meet their treatment expenses, but also ensure that they are suitably compensated with due support.
