School denies lack of co-operation in child assault case

Mangaluru:   Mangalore One School management Chairman,  said the management has given and will extend all support to the police, in investigations to uncover truth in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a young child by a school van driver.  He streeses  that the school has not tried to cover up the incident. The management had reported the incident to the police as soon as it got to know of it. The driver was appointed after verifying his clean record in the past. He has been working with the school for the last three years and no untoward incident was reported against him.   The management will take further steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. Accordingly, lady staff will accompany the students in the school van.

The management will ensure that last child dropped is not a girl child and floor wise patrolling of school premises will be initiated.  CCTVs will be increased in number and staff will be sensitised on the issue. He said the school has always acted responsibly whatever the issue may be.
