K A Nettakallappa Memorial Road Race -2015, at Udupi

Udupi, June 14, 2015 : It is reported,The Deccan Athletic Club, Bangaluru, will be organising a road race titled ’K A Nettakallappa Memorial Road Race -2015’ here at Ajjarkadu grounds today June 14.

The run which is 12 km and six km respectively is organised in three categories. The 12 km run is organised exclusively for males and six km run for women and 2.5 km run for boys and girls under 16 years of age. The 12 km run would begin from district stadium and pass through Brahmagiri circle, SP office road, Udupi-Manipal road, Kalsanka, Sharada Kalyana Mantap, MGM College, New Manipal Bazar and culminate at the district stadium grounds. The six km run would begin at New Manipal Bazar and end at the district stadium grounds.

The first prize winner would receive Rs 5,000 and the second prize winner would get Rs 3,500 and the third prize winner would get Rs 2,500 respectively in both men and women categories. The winner in the category for the children below 16 years of age would receive Rs 1,500 as the first prize. Superintendent of Police Annamalai would flag of the road race. Deputy Commissioner Dr R Vishal would grace the prize distribution ceremony. At least  150 people are taking part in the race. The race is sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani.
