Udupi : As per reports, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, has called for regularisation of at least 2,500 nurses working on contract basis across the State. MLC Poojary told media June 23, that they should be paid revised minimum wages till their services are regularised. Presently, the minimum wage is Rs. 4,575 per month. As per new norms, they should be paid Rs. 17,650 per month.
He said that the if Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader does not respond to the demand, hold a dharna in front of Khader’s office in the Vikas Soudha before the start of the monsoon session in Belagavi on June 29.
The previous BJP government had promised to regularise the services of the nurses. But the present Congress government had not taken the proposal forward and is negligent.
