Udupi : Awareness camp on the communicable diseases, water and air borne diseases, the treatments available for the diseases, snake bites, first aid and also the introduction to various medicinal plant species, was inaugurated by the Nakre Church Priest Rev Vincent Crasta. He said there is need to create awareness over the communicable diseases especially during rainy season. Catholic Sabha and Health Commission Units, Nakre Church in association with the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Kukkunduru organised the event.
Kukkunduru Primary Health Centre, medical officer Dr Arun explained in detail on misquotes and measures to control breeding. He also highlighted symptoms for all communicable water and air borne influenzas. .
The school health medical officer Dr Rupak Nagraj spoke on the importance of the first aid during the poisonous insects and snake bites. He also said that precautionary measures are very necessary. He also gave pointers on the home medicine and various medicinal plants that can be used as home medicine during emergencies. Free diabetes check up was also held on the occasion. Around 100 people took part in the awareness camp.
