Yaksha Tulu Parba - July 12-18

Mangaluru, July 12, 2015 :  with the view of  promoting  Tulu Yakshagana among general public, Yaksha Tulu Parba Sapthahotsava Samithi will organise Yaksha Tulu Parba at Mangala Mantapa of Mangaladevi Temple from July 12 to 18.

Briefing media, Samithi General Secretary Sarapady Ashok Shetty said the Yakshagana will be held from 5 pm to 10.30 pm during the week -long programme. The programme will be inaugurated by Harshendra Kumar of Dharmasthala. On the inaugural day, Dr Devadas Rai will be felicitated and ’Kadireda Kanchana’ written by D Manohar Kumar will be staged.

The Yakshagana to be performed are ’Gejjeda pooje’ by D Manohar Kumar (July 13), ’Srimathi Sripathi’ by D Manohar Kumar (July 14), Sri Krishna Leele-Kamsavadhe’ (July 15), ’Sarapadida Sarpe’ by Sarapady Ashok Shetty (July 16), ’Bengda Mantravadi’ by G K Srinivas Salian (July 17) and ’Matha Vaishnodevi’ by D Manohar Kumar (July 18).

Stating that the incomplete work on Town Hall is responsible for causing inconvenience to the artistes to perform Yakshagana to eke their livelihood during monsoon, he said the authorities should complete the work at Town hall without further delay .
