Mangaluru, July 12, 2015 : According to a complaint filed with the Mangaluru East Police, a bank employee was reportedly drugged July 10, by his acquaintance and made to handover Rs. 19,000.
Sharan Kurien, a probationary officer with South Indian Bank, had met that person a couple of times earlier. On July 10, evening, Kurien met the person near a medical store on K R Rao Road at about 7 pm, on being invited cordially Kurien accompanied him in the car.
The Bank employee Kurien, explained he was taken around the city and at Chilimbi, he was offered fruit juice, which is suspectedly mixed with a sedative. After drinking the juice, the person took Kurien to South Indian Bank’s ATM where he was made him withdraw Rs. 19,000.
The person threatened and snatched the amount from Kurien. Then he drove away after dropping Kurien near Lady Hill bus stop. The police said Kurien was yet to furnish a proper description of the suspect.
