Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, July 17, 2015: In a press release,  G. Rajashekhar, president of district unit of KKSV - Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike , said that the raid on the premises of Teesta Setalvad and other directors of the firm was done solely for political purposes.  The DK district unit of KKSV  - Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike  has condemned the raid by the CBI on the publishing firm of social activist Teesta Setalvad on July 14,  for alleged violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

The motive behind this raid was to deactivate  Setalavad’s organisations, which had carried on a legal fight against violation of human rights.   The CBI raid was a despicable act by the Union government to crush just struggles and protect violators of law.  If such acts went on unhindered, it would shake the foundations of the legal justice system, Constitution and civil rights. The President of India  should take a serious note of these developments and intervene to protect civil law and rights.
