Father-son win Dell M’lore city competition

Mangaluru, Aug 13, 2015:  Dell company announced the city-level winner of ’Dell Champs - 2015,’ a 20-city student outreach programme woven around the theme, ’Learning Meets Doing.’ The Dell Champs is a part of the Dell’s student contact programme which, riding on four years of success, is now in its fifth year.

Preetham U and his son Pradhyumna Upadhyay from Sharada Vidyalaya School, Mangaluru have won the city-level ’Dell Champs 2015’ competition.

The competition was conducted in 21 city schools in Mangaluru and reached out close to 1,20,000 students and 80,000 parents, nationally. Preetham and his son will represent Mangaluru in the national finals to be held in September ’15.

The "Dell Champs - 2015" programme features an interactive technology-based quiz contest that provides an unique platform for parents to participate with their child and be a partner in their success.

The Dell Champs 2015 programme is being conducted in three phases with the first being ’School level’ round, from which two teams are chosen to represent their school in the city finals. While school level winners are being decided, there will be an interactive workshop as part of Dell’s School Contact Programme, to educate children and parents on how PCs can enhance learning and on Internet safety.

Second round :   The second round has 40 teams from the 20 schools competing in the ’City level’ contest, and the top 20 city-level finalists will compete in an online quiz in the ’National level’. The national level quiz will be conducted on the Dell Champs microsite. The winning team will receive a Dell All-in-One PC.

The first runner-up will be awarded a Dell Desktop, 2nd runner-up will receive a Dell TFT Monitor with a 17-inch screen and 3rd runner-up will receive a Dell TFT Monitor with a 15-inch screen.

This grand quiz contest will reveal the geniuses of tomorrow in 400 schools across 20 Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities throughout India.

The 20 cities are Meerut, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Indore, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Cochin, Coimbatore, Madurai, Mangaluru, Ahmedabad, Raipur, Jaipur, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, Bhubaneswar, Jamshedpur, Vijayawada and Vishakhapatnam and will be covered over a period of three months.

In addition to this, the top four schools of the "Dell Champs - 2015" will be awarded a Dell-powered study lab equipped with Dell AIO, projector and interactive screen. The rest of the finalists will receive trophies from the Dell and every school that participates will receive gratifications from the company.
