Motorcylist falls off vehicle and dies

Mangaluru Aug 12, 2015: A beedi transporter died on the spot after he fell off his motorcycle near Nekkiladi in Puttur Traffic police station limits on Tuesday morning.

According to police, Naveen Ramdas Bhakta (62) was on his way to Uppinangady. Near Nekkiladi, Bhakta lost control over this vehicle and fell off it and died on the spot. A passerby informed the police about the accident.

Four injured

Four persons were injured when their car collided with a lorry at Kottikallu on the Shiradi Ghat on Tuesday afternoon.

The police said the car driver overtook a vehicle and hit the lorry. While the car was going towards Sakleshpur, the lorry was going towards Mangaluru. The police said all the four injured persons have been admitted to a private hospital.

Three held

The Belthangady police have arrested three persons in connection with the murder of 32-year-old Nasir near Malaibettu in Sajipamunnur village few days ago.

The police identified the arrested persons as Anish, Kiran and Vijith.

They have launched a search for the fourth person involved in the incident. The four persons are accused of dragging Nasir out of an autorickshaw and hitting him with sharp weapons leading to the latter’s death on August 7.
