Mangaluru, Aug 16, 2015 : St Aloysius College students past and present are back with ’Cause 2015’ this Independence Day. The event will begin with a two/four-wheel rally, Ride for a Cause, that will be flagged off by Uday Nayak, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru city traffic police. Creating awareness among youngsters about the perils of rash and negligent driving given the fact that most victims of road accidents are youth.
The rally started at Light House Hill Road and traversed through the city thoroughfares before ending at Loyola Hall in Kodialbail where a cultural programme was staged.
City police chief S Murugan was the chief guest at the event. Rekha K Alva, vice-principal, St Aloysius PU College was present .
Members of Cause (Citizen Alliance to Uphold Service and Exchange) had conducted a two-day promotional event at City Centre Mall here last weekend. The event saw students put up food stalls to help the organization raise Rs 1.20 lakh. This will be distribute this to CARDTS Samvedhana in Mahavir Circle, Sevashram in Deralakatte and Preethi Sadhan in Kinnigoli.
