Make city top in cleanliness.

Mangaluru :   Speaking at the Civic Workers Day celebrations Sept 23,  MCC -  City Corporation Commissioner H.N. Gopalakrishna asked pourakarmikas to work with officials for taking the city to number one ranking in terms of cleanliness.   Gopalakrishna said pourakarmikas had played a prominent role in ensuring cleanliness in the city, which has been ranked 11th among the 476 cities in the country.

We have to top the ranking, for which we need your support, he said there are 270-odd pourakarmikas working in the city corporation. As per the policy of the State government, pourakarmikas will not be replaced after their retirement.  The government is outsourcing cleaning work from  private agencies.  it is matter to be seriously studied and  sorted out.
