Doctor looses over a crore in PG seat racket.

Udupi. Oct 23, 2015 : According to reports, a doctor from Andhra Pradesh, who was promised a MD seat, was cheated of Rs. 1.03 crore.   S.K. Veereshwar Raju (29), a doctor and a resident of Mummidivaram, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, was promised an MD seat by Sangeet Kumar in either Udupi or Mangaluru. Kumar had demanded more than a crore for the seat.

 Dr. Raju credited an amount of Rs. 52 lakh from March 14, 2012, to May 24, 2012 to Kumar’s account in ICICI Bank in Udupi. The rest of the money was credited in other bank accounts of Kumar in other places.

Dr. Raju was promised the seat,  after April 2014, Kumar stopped taking calls of Dr. Raju. Neither did Kumar get Dr. Raju the promised seat nor did he return the money.  It is said  Dr. Raju lodged a complaint at the Udupi Town Police Station.  A case under Section 420 (cheating) of Indian Penal Code had been registered at the Udupi Town Police Station and investigations are ongoing.
