Dispose of cases says SHRC secretary

Nov 06, 2015: Madhu Sharma, secretary, State Human Rights Commission, on Thursday directed the district administration to speedily dispose of 44 cases of human rights violations pending in the district.

Presiding over a review meeting of human rights issues here, the secretary said there were 12 cases pertaining to the Deputy Commissioner’s office, 10 pertaining to the Superintendent of Police’s office and 22 pertaining to other departments. Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer P.I. Srividya, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar and officials from other departments were present.
