"Makkala Habba" set for Nov 21, Saturday, & 22 Sunday

Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2015 : As per official information, the rescheduled "Makkala Habba" will be conducted at the Dr. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama for two days from November 21, Saturday. It may be recalled that it was informed that the district administration had postponed the habba scheduled on November 14 and 15 in view of district bandh on November 13 and tense situations  in the district.

The DK Deputy Commissioner Adoor.B. Ibrahim officially stated on Nov 17 that the habba aims at promoting patriotism and integration among children, besides being an opportunity for them to learn new things.

They can visit the science centre and Pilikula Biological Park and see other facilities at the Nisargadhama. Many activities for the enlightenment of children would be organised during the habba. Children could taste puffed rice (charmurri), eat banana after plucking it from a bunch, groundnuts and have a bite of toffees on offer. There would be face painting, sand art, slow cycle race, treasure hunt, one-act plays, astronomy show and robotics. There will be a procession of children dressed as freedom fighters too.  All the events would be conducted between 10 am and 4 pm, on both days Nov 21 & 22.
