Priest commits suicide in well

Karkala, Dec 19, 2015 : According to the Karkala Town Police, Ganapati Bhat (58), who was serving as a priest in a temple, committed suicide by jumping into the well around 5 a.m on Dec 18.  On hearing a sound, his wife Shyamala and daughter Rashmi, rushed out and climbed down the well to try to save him, but in vain. Neighbours entered the compound and got Shyamala and Rashmi out of the well.

Fire and Emergency Services personnel later brought out the body of Ganapati Bhat. A case of unnatural death has been registered, the police said.
