Rural service essential need for young doctors says Vinay Hegde

Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2016 ;  Speaking at a live video conference on ’Creative Cardiology,’ organised in collaboration with K S Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte University, and Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Centre, Houston, USA, on Nitte campus in Deralakatte; Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde said doctors must be aware on not only providing quality treatment to patients but also serve in rural areas essentially.

Chancellor Vinay Hegde said that a huge majority of India’s population lives in the villages. Providing quality health services should be the motto of more young doctors. Free treatment is given to more than three lakh people every year through Kshema Hospital. Everyday, more than 1,500 people get treatment in the hospital he added.
