Udupi : Clash between 2 girl students sparks protest in G Shanker College

Udupi, Feb 13,2016 : An alleged assault on a  female student   by another girl, a student leader  sparked protest by students at the G Shanker Women’s First  Grade College at Ajjarkad on February 12, Friday.

Sources revealed that a student leader named Bhavya allegedly assaulted a final year  B.Com student  Navya Shetty after  the two who were discussing something suddenly picked up a quarrel.

It is said the longstanding impasse in the college with no classes held owing to the protest  by guest lecturers had resulted in the formation of two student  factions.

No sooner the assault news spread there was protest and even the activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike joined the protest .  The local police who rushed to the sort tried their level best to sort out the issue.

Meanwhile, there has been a demand for the transfer of the  principal with several making an appeal to appoint a lady principal as it is a women’s college.
