’Chutuku’ writers to meet on February 21

Mangaluru, Feb 19, 2016 :  A State-level get together of chutuku poets, limerick writers will be organised at Ira, on the outskirts of the city, on February 21.  M.G.R. Arasu, State convener of Kendra Chutuku Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru will preside over the event.

A collection of chutuku poems written by Kasaragod Ashok Kumar and K. Mahendranath Salethur will be released on the occasion.  President of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy M. Janaki Brahmavar will inaugurate the seminar at 11.30 am. Poet Mahammed Baddur will speak on ‘Chutuku sahityada nele bele’, writer Raghu Idkidu will talk about ‘vachanas and chutukus’ and Nalinakshi Bejai, a poet, will throw light on women sensitiveness in chutuku sahitya.

Kavi goshti :  A kavi goshti in the afternoon from 1 pm will be presided over by G.Ga. Nayak. Author V.B. Arthikaje will deliver the valedictory address at the function. The programmes will be conduced at Somanatheswara Kala Mantapa on the premises of Somanatheswara temple.
