Pilikula Sambhrama today

Mangaluru, Feb 28, 2016: Dr. K. Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Nisargadhama has organised a day-long Pilikula Sambhrama-2016 featuring a number of cultural, sports and science activities on Sunday between 9.30 am and 6.30 pm.

The Nisargadhama has also planned the celebration of National Science Day on the occasion, which will be inaugurated at 9.30 a.m.  Students from engineering colleges as well as high schools are expected to attend this programme and participate in various competitions including exhibitions of science models.

Volleyball tourney  : A volleyball tournament will be organised for men and women at the Urban Haat playground in the morning.   The Department of Kannada and Culture would conduct cultural programmes throughout the day at the Pilikula Biological Park, said a release from the Nisargadhama.

Lok Sabha Member Nalin Kumar Kateel would inaugurate interlocked pavement work completed under MPLAD scheme at a cost of Rs. 33 lakh.

The day will also see Suggi-Huggi – a folk cultural programme – be inaugurated by District in-charge Minister B. Ramanath Rai.

The day-long cultural event will feature folk song and dance performances such as Kangilu, Lambani, Kodava, Kamsale, Yakshagana and more.

Ministers U.T. Khader and K. Abhayachandra Jain, MLC Ganesh Karnik and others will be present at the inauguration at 10 am
