Man attempts escape marriage, compelled by samithi

Puttur, Feb 28, 2016: The Puttur Mahila Santvana Samithi succeeded in arranging the marriage of a girl with the man who promised to marry her but absconded after developing a physical relationship with her.

Padmanabha, resident of Kasargod was in love with Vinaya from Uppinangady; he developed a physical relationship with her after promising marriage. However, when she got pregnant, he abandoned her. The girl’s parents then approached Samithi for assistance.  The members successfully traced Padmanabha with the help of police and brought him to Uppinangady. They convinced him to marry the girl and he agreed. The marriage was registered at the Sub Registrar’s Office, Puttur.
