SSLC student beaten by uncle falls ill, dies

Bantwal , Apr 04, 2016: As per reports, a 16-year-old boy died after he was beaten up by his uncle in Bantwal  April 3. It is said, Sachin, son of Ganesh Naik from Sarolthadka in Kadeshivalya village is the deceased.

A case has been registered at Bantwal rural police station against Ganesh Naik’s brother Sundara Naik, who reportedly had beaten up the boy.


It is narrated that Gopala Naik, Sundara Naik and Ganesh Naik stay at Sarolthadka in Kadeshivalya. On March 27,  when Sachin was at Gopala Naik’s house, Sundara Naik came there and alleged that Sachin has stolen his mobile and a sickle. He also allegedly slapped Sachin. Since then Sachin was sick and he was also under pressure as he was preparing for the SSLC examination. His condition refused to improve after the incident and yet, on March 30, he attended the Kannada paper.   On Saturday his health condition worsened and he was shifted to Puttur private hospital.

But on Sunday morning he breathed his last.  According to the complaint Sachin died as blood circulation to his brain stopped after Sunadara Naik slapped him.  Police have launched a manhunt for the accused.

Bantwal rural officer Rakshith Gowda and staff have investigated and have registered the case.
