Nomination papers filed for Kaup Town Municipal Council polls

Mangaluru, April 12, 2016: It is reported that 48 nomination papers were filed for the elections to the newly formed Kaup Town Municipal Council (TMC) on Apr 11, Monday.

According to a media note issued by the Udupi DC’s Office,  the 48 nomination papers filed included 20 nomination papers by the Congress, 18 by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), five by the Janata Dal (Secular), four by the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and one by an independent candidate.

The last date for filing nomination papers is April 12, while scrutiny of nomination papers will be taken up on April 13. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is April 17. The elections will be held on April 24. Counting of votes will be taken up at the Taluk Office Hall in Udupi on April 27.
