Mangaluru, June 7, 2016: Addressing media in Mangaluru, Principal of GTTC, Mangaluru, M Geethakrishna said that GTTC, Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Industrial Estate, Baikampadi in Mangaluru, has been offering various short-term and long-term courses. Applications are invited by the aspirants in this regard.

 The institution offers specialised diploma for boys and girls in tool and dye making and precision manufacturing. Both diplomas are for three plus one years. The applicants must have passed tenth standard. Also, there are courses in competency certificate diploma course in Tool Manufacturing and Competency Certificate Diploma in Computer Integrated Manufacturing. Both courses are of two plus one year duration. For ITI students, there is an option for lateral entry for second year, he said.

These apart, there are 10 certificate courses such as tool room mechanist, turner/ miller/ grinder/ fitter advance mechanist and others. These courses range from two weeks to one year in duration. He said that all the courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Applications are available at District Industries Centre in Yeyyadi and June 7 is the last date for submission. He informed that for long term courses, the application fee is Rs 250 (Rs 125 for SC/ST students) and for short term courses, Rs 100 (Rs 50 for SC/ST students).
