Drowning in rivulet while fishing reported

June 16, 2016: Reports say a  man drowned while fishing in a rivulet at Kambalakatte in Yenagudde village under Kaup police station limits on June 15, Wednesday.

According to the police, the victim, Sudhir, was trying to catch fish in the rivulet at around 10 a.m., when there was a down pour of sudden rain.  Sudhir may have been carried away owing to the force of the water in the rivulet and drowned. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigations were on, the police said.
