The students of Bala Samrakshana Kendra will present cultural programmes. There are 25 students from Meghalaya and five students from Arunachal Pradesh studying in different schools in Mangaluru, who will join the Kendra for higher education this year.

He said, "Five luminaries from Dakshina Kannada district were part of the Constituent Assembly which drafted Indian Constitution. Over a period of time, however, we have forgotten the contributions all the five great personalities. Legal luminary B N Rao was the chief legal advisor to the Assembly, Rev Fr Jerome D’Souza was the only Christian priest who was part of the Assembly. H V Kamath had left his Indian Civil Service job to join the Freedom movement. It was he who had brought in several amendments to the Constitution. One of them was political retirement for MPs after 70 years, however, the amendment could not be passed.

"Two other experts of the district are legal experts  Benegal Shiva Rao and Ullal Srinivas Mallya, who were responsible for the development of coastal district."   A talk on Indian Constitution by Dr P Ananthakrishna Bhat will be held at 5.10 pm.
