Kadri police arrest 2, seize ornaments worth Rs 2.7 lakhs

Mangalore, Mar 6: Kadri Police have arrested two people on grounds of robbery. They also confiscated ornaments worth Rs 2.70 lakhs and a two-wheeler from them on March 5, Friday. 

The arrested are Kishore and Nagesh of Bantwal. They are involved in several cases of theft, mainly chain snatching. They used to target single women walking along lone streets. 

Police sources have revealed that the accused used to snatch chains jointly while riding their motorbike. They would stop near the victim and pretend to ask for directions before robbing them. 

The Kadri police received a tip about the two, based on which they made an arrest at Shivabhag. The two confessed to their crimes under interrogation.
