Koti Chennaya Kabaddi tournament, entries invited

Mangaluru, Oct 3, 2016: Addressing media, Swasthik Friends Club Founder President M Tungappa Bangera said that Swasthik Friends Club, Punjalakatte, Bantwal, will organise the 33rd state-level Koti Chennaya Kabaddi Tournament for men at Bangle Maidan in Punjalkatte on November 12 and 13.

The tournament will be held in open and 60 kg categories. The tournament is aimed towards the encouragement of budding players and social harmony, he added.

In the open category, the first prize winners will get the Koti Chennaya award comprising a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a gold medal. The second, third and fourth prize winners will get the cash prizes Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, along with Koti Chennaya trophies.

In the 60 kg category, the first prize winners will get the Koti Chennaya Award comprising a cash prize of Rs 35,000 and a gold medal. The second, third and fourth prize winners will get Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively, along with Koti Chennaya trophies. The best attacker, best catcher and the best all rounder will also be awarded.

There is an entry fee of Rs 1,000. The last date to send the entries is October 29. The club has been organising the tournament continuously for the last 32 years, since the establishment of the club in 1983, he added.

Swasthik Friends Club President Prashanth M Punjalkatte, Secretary Jayaraj Attaje, Jury Committee Convener Francis V V and Kreeda Pramukh Rajesh Pulimajalu were present at the press meet.
