Oct 07, 2016: Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya, said Bharath, who was suffering from mental illness was found wandering in Thuminadu, Kunjathur and was rescued by Snehalaya Charitable Trust, a Kasargod-based NGO, has been successful in reuniting him with his family. Bharath was found on November 19, 2015. He was later admitted to Yenepoya Medical College Hospital and later to Snehalaya Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre. Responding to the treatment, he recollected his past and later, wrote a letter to his family in Gujarat. The family of Bharath visited Snehalaya recently and were overjoyed to unite with Bharath. According to them, Bharath was missing since 2010.
In the second case, Nagaraj’s family from Karkala in Udupi district were happy to see Nagaraj’s father Thambhu who went missing since December 5, 2015. The family members, after searching him at Shakleshpur, Padubidri and Udupi, had lost hope of meeting him.
People who found him loitering on the streets of Thokkottu, informed Snehalaya on February 19, 2016. After treatment at Snehalaya, he was cured of his illness. The family members found out about him on Facebook that he was in Snehalaya. His son and relatives visited Snehalaya and took him back to their native. These are two recent incidents. Snehalaya has been a ray of hope for many persons in distress, Crasta detailed.
