Whatsapp contributes to auto driver’s harrasment, threat

Oct 21, 2016: It is reported that one auto driver has lodged a police complaint alleging threat to his life after receiving threat calls from international numbers. .

The complainant, Santhosh Kumar, a resident of Puthila village in Belthangady taluk, in his complaint with the Uppinangady police mentioned that he started receiving several calls and messages from international numbers on 17th and 18th October wherein the callers/message senders abused him with vulgar language and also threatened him with dire consequences.

He further mentioned that he came to know of some fake allegations against him doing the rounds in Whatsapp along with his photo and mobile number through a friend and believes this may be the reason for the threat calls.

Santhosh in his report has provided details of the numbers from which he has received the calls/messages and has urged the police to take action against the miscreants who were spreading the false messages and also against the persons who have threatened him.
