Vigilance awareness at MRPL, from today Oct 31 to Nov 5

Oct 31, 2016: MRPL, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited will observe Vigilance Awareness Week-2016 as per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission from October 31 to November 5. CVC has chosen ’Public Participation in Promoting Integrity and eradicating Corruption’ as the theme for the week. In an effort to involve general public in fighting against corruption, CVC has proposed an e-Integrity pledge for citizens, a MRPL communique informs.


People may visit the commission’s website, that is www.cvc.nic.in and take the e-Pledge. The CVC will issue a certificate of appreciation which can be downloaded and printed for taking the pledge. MRPL will establish public kiosk to facilitate citizens of Mangaluru take the pledge. Series of awareness programmes will be conducted during the week for employees of MRPL, students of schools and colleges of Surathkal and the general public on this occasion.

A Rajendra Shetty, former principal, SDM Law College, Mangaluru, will inaugurate the week at MRPL on Monday. A walkathon and street play by the college students is arranged to be held on November 2 at Surathkal. An elocution competition for schoolchildren involving 18 schools and a debate competition involving students of eight colleges will be held at Mahalingeshwara Higher Primary School, Surathkal, and Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, respectively on November 3.

K Upendra Rao, deputy general manager (vigilance) said winners of all competitions will receive their prizes at the valedictory function of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2016 that will be held at MRPL on November 5. K Byrappa, vice-chancellor, Mangalore University will be the chief guest. All India Radio, Mangalore, will broadcast special programmes on Vigilance Awareness Week from October 31 to November 5 from 8pm to 8.30pm.
