Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2016: Media information says, Psychiatrists of the State will play cricket at NMPT Stadium, Panambur, for two days from November 26. It is for creating awareness and clearing misconceptions related to mental illness and also to emphasise the role of physical activity in mental well being.
Organised by the Karnataka chapter of the Indian Psychiatric Society, eight teams of psychiatrists from the State will participate in it, a release from the society said. Titled “Psychiatry Premier League,” there will be a special attraction at the tournament. “A friendly- match between women psychiatrists of Mangaluru will be conducted,” the release said. “Importance of organ donation will also be highlighted as part of the tournament,” the release said.
J. Arun Chakravarthy, Inspector General of Police, Western Range, will inaugurate the tournament. Mayor Harinath and cine star Anitha Bhat will be the guests. Prasad Rao, president, Indian Psychiatric Society and Santhosh Soans, president-elect, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, will be present.
