Nov 29, 2016: Curtains came down on the 23rd convocation of Manipal University here at KMC Greens with 1,169 students receiving degrees. Total of 3,421 students received their degrees on all three days. Another 1,839 received it in absentia.

Founding Managing Director and CEO of Tata Capital, Praveen P Kadle in his address, called upon the graduating students to pursue certain values in life to succeed.  "I have studied that every successful person follows certain principles. There are three D’s which are important and will help you on the road to success in your life: Dedication, discipline and determination. Whatever your goal in life is, pursue it with these D’s and you will succeed in achieving whatever objectives you have in mind," he said.

Kadle told the students they had graduated into a new world. He asked the students to "take life easy," and quoted the German-American poet Charles Bukowski from his ’Grammer of Life’ which says, "Past is imperfect, the present is tense, the future is malign, and immortality lacks evidence, lay down and eat roses."

He said education gives students an entry into the new world and good education gives a good platform to start with. It opens the doors to corporate life for those who wish to join the corporate world or will help start own businesses.
