Manipal, Dec 18, 2016: Speaking at the one-day executive development programme (EDP) on ’Digital Marketing for Business Growth’ at the School of Management in Manipal University recently, Satheesh Kumar Palanisamy, head (Digital Marketing), Manipal Global Education Services, Bengaluru explained, how the shift into digital space is happening in India and on how technology is changing at a breakneck speed. He also explained, as a consequence, how the changes were happening in every walk of life. EDP was held for micro, small and medium enterprises in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. The programme focused on sharing latest trends, best practices and technologies for effective digital and social media marketing. He said that small enterprises were using various digital platforms such as SEO, SEM, ad words, display advertising, mobile advertising, video advertising and social media advertising to leverage the potential to build brand. He enlightened the participants on how to list their products in the e-commerce market place.
Dr Raveendranath Nayak, director, School of Management, said that the executive development programme was designed to sensitise the micro, small and medium enterprises about digital marketing practices and the potential of digital in driving revenue. "We have plans to conduct EDP in core management areas such as HR, finance, marketing and entrepreneurship," he said.
Owners and marketing executives from various small to medium scale industries of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts participated in the programme.
