Verbal assault of advocate with SI near court ugly episode, complaints lodged

Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2016: Reports indicate that a  lawyer and SI of police,  have lodged complaints against each other at Karkala town police station after the duo were seen engaged in a verbal altercation outside the  JFMC Court premises here at the week end.

While lawyer Maniraj Shetty has alleged SI Rafiq of abusing and threatening him when he tried to talk to his client – Willam D’souza -- on December 16, SI Rafiq too has lodged a complaint against the lawyer for obstructing him from his duty.

Maniraj Shetty while addressing a press meet at Karkala Bar Association Shetty said that SI Rafiq was avenging the act of the lawyer who brought to light the extortion cases of the SI few days ago.
