BSNL football tournament in the city, Dec 19 to 22

Mangaluru, Dec 19, 2016: Speaking at Telecom House in Pandeshwar on Dec 18, Sunday, BSNL Karnataka Circle chief general manager and BSNL KCSCB president P Nagaraju said that BSNL,  Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Karnataka Circle Sports and Cultural Board (KCSCB) will organise the 16th BSNL Football Tournament 2016-17 from December 19 to 22 at football stadium, Nehru Maidan.

BSNL, New Delhi, director (CFA) N K Gupta will be the chief guest and international athlete Vandana Shabhag Pai Maroor guest of honour.

Teams from Karnataka, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Maharastra, NTR, Delhi, Punjab, Rajastan and Tamil Nadu will take part. Each team consists of 17 members including coach and manager. Mayank Mishra has been nominated as the observer for the tournament, he added.

BSNL chief managing director Anupam Shrivastava will be the chief guest and DOT, New Delhi, member R J Upadhyay will be the guest of honour for the valedictory programme at 4 pm on December 22.

P Nagaraju said that the BSNL has been recruiting sportspersons to encourage them. Selection of employees on sports quota happens once in four years.
