Looting labourers at Baikampady, gang arrested

Mangaluru, Dec 20, 2016: It is reported that Panambur police onDecember 19 nabbed three men of a gang who were involved in robbing labourers in Baikampady industrial area.

Those arrested are Mohammed Mazambil, Shuhud, and Kamaluddin.  It is gathered that gang of 5 used to target the labourers in the area on Saturdays—it being a payment day for the labourers. So far no one had lodged a police complaint about the thefts however few people decided to raise the issue and it was with their help that the police nabbed the three criminals.  The police are meanwhile on the lookout for the other two gang members.  Recently the gang had robbed Rs 32,000 from a laborer who hails from Assam. They had even destroyed his phone so that he could not phone anybody immediately. The arrested were produced in court on Sunday and have been remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
