Social activist says ’Marriage is a hurdle for wellbeing of women’

Mangaluru, Dec 26, 2016: Social activist and folk singer Meenakshi Bali speaking at literature conference, ‘Jana Nudi-2016,’ in Mangaluru city stated,  “Marriage is a barrier for over all development of women community in India, therefore marriage system should be banned in the society" 

Speaking in the conference she noted, “Hands of women in Indian society are tied in the name of home maker, mother, god and others. She is being exploited by the male dominated society for its requirement.”

High caste women in India have exploited the women from lower caste in the past and these issues are narrated in the folk songs. Folk songs have turned into strong weapons against exploitation by the  caste members of the society. The songs narrate the life of dalits and the songs have turned into powerful weapon against Vedic society.
