Udupi taluk Sahitya Sammelana at Ambalapadi, Jan 7

 Udupi, Jan 3, 2017: Speaking to reporters, Udupi Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishath president Neelavara Surendra Adiga said that renowned writer and artist Dr Madhavi S Bhandari will be the president of Sammelana. Retired teacher and singer Chandrashekhar Kedlaya will inaugurate the Sammelana and deliver the keynote address.Udupi  District in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj, CMC president Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje and taluk panchayat president Nalini Bhaskar Rao will be the chief guests. Udupi taluk Sahitya Sammelana will be held at Pragathi Saudha in Ambalapadi on January 7.

Seminars will be held on various topics, including women’s empowerment and reality, women and the problems in the contemporary world, women in politics and women and domestic problems. The second session will concentrate on media’s role in society.Talks will be held on print, electronic and online media and its impact on society. Cultural programmes will also be held on the occasion, he said.

The valedictory address is to be delivered by Tenkanidiyur College associate professor Dr Nikethana. MP Shobha Karandlaje and Zilla Panchayat president Dinaker Babu will be the chief guests.

Achievers of different fields will be felicitated on the occasion. They include Gopal Shetty (Literature), G K Srinivas Rao (Education), Dr Bhaskaranand Kumar (Medicine and literature), Upadhyaya Moodubelle (Art), Vishu Shetty Ambalapdi and Vanaja Poojarthy Beedanagudde (Social Service) and Baburaya Acharya Cherkadi (Organic Farming).
