C.N.R. Rao to launch Yenepoya foundation

Feb 11, 2017: It is reported that scientist C.N.R. Rao will launch the Yenepoya Narcotics Education Foundation of India at Yenepoya University, Deralakatte, on Feb11, Saturday.

He will deliver the inaugural Yenepoya Foundation lecture on the occasion at 9.30 a.m.   The university will confer a Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) upon him on the occasion.   The foundation has conceived a special project called ‘Mission Angel Dust’ to educate students on substance and drug abuse.

The foundation will be headed by G. Shreekumar Menon, former Director-General of National Academy of Customs and Excise and Narcotics and a counter-narcotics specialist.  According to a release by the university, the foundation will aim to promote primary prevention of drug abuse.  The foundation has also plans to set up a state-of-the-art centre for research, treatment and rehabilitation of drug users.
