Syndicate Bank soon to add nine ’regional offices’.

Mar 06, 2017: After inaugurating 11 Ananya transformed Syndicate bank branches here on Light House Hill road on March 4, Saturday,  Bank Executive Director S S Mallikarjuna Rao, told reporters that the bank embarked upon project Ananya in February 2016 and has been operating on the four pillars of transformation which comprise business process reengineering, digital channels, sales and CRM, HR transformation.  An increase in the number of Syndicate Bank branches and nine additional regional offices of the bank would be opened shortly, said

"The BPR initiatives will re-engineer currency branch processes to provide customers with faster turnaround time and more efficient processing. It also includes branch transformation aimed at customer service and modernisation," he said.

He said digital channels of the bank are being revamped to cater to the fast changing needs of the modern customer which include new product feature suite, simpler on boarding and improved customer interfaces.

A state-of-the-art contact centre with sales and service capabilities is being launched to ensure 24X7 banking facilities to all customers, he said.

Noting that Syndicate Bank has 3,870 branches in 29 states, Mallikarjuna Rao said that there are 750 branches in Karnataka. By March-end another 372 branches would be opened, he said. During the financial year 2017-18, an additional 400 branches would be opened, he said.

He said customers are giving priority to digital transactions and the bank has chalked out various programmes for the benefit of customers. He said passbook entries, cash deposits and mobile banking services would be provided round the clock.

He said Syndicate Bank is the lead bank in five districts of Andhra Pradesh where the public distribution system has been digitalised by the bank. Without paying any cash, customers can purchase goods in the public distribution system. Through thumb impression, the amount would be credited to the account of ration shops.

The 11 Ananya branches that were inaugurated are at Bantwal, Belthangady, Mangaluru-FMCI Kankanady, Mangaluru-Hampankatta, Mangaluru-Kadri, Kinnigoli, Moodbidri, Puttur, Vittal, Mangaluru-Kulshekar.
