Mysore, June 4, 2017: Food and Civil Supplies Minister U.T. Khader on June 3, Saturday went out of his way to help of an injured accident victim by sending him to hospital in his official car. The ambulance had been called, but was yet to arrive when the Minister reached the spot.
Imtiyiaz, 30, met with an accident near Hinkal on the Mysuru-Mangaluru national highway. The Minister, who was returning to Mangaluru from Mysuru after attending the Congress convention, stopped his car when he noticed a crowd on the roadside.
“I learnt that the victim was waiting for an ambulance. I told them not to waste time and immediately shift the victim to the nearest hospital in my car,” Minister Khader told media. Imtiyiaz, who had suffered a head injury, was taken to Aishwarya Hospital in Mysuru.
Minister Khader had come to the rescue of another accident victim in 2014 He had helped an old couple and there are other instances too of his unusual concern for road victims.
