Mangaluru, July 10,2017: Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U.T. Khader has appealed to the people of Dakshina Kannada to maintain peace.

All religious and political leaders should join hands on humanitarian grounds to restore peace in the district. The government is committed to identify and punish troublemakers irrespective of their affiliations to any organisations, he said in a release.

The government will provide compensation to the families of the two youths murdered in Bantwal recently, Mr. Khader said, adding that the youths did not take part in any criminal activities.

The Minister said that the police should keep a vigil on those who spread rumours and disturb peace by spreading unwanted messages.

He said that attempts to disturb peace in the district will be defeated.
