Carnatic music fest in city today and tomorrow, Aug 26, 27

Mangaluru, Aug 26,2017: A two-day Carnatic music festival of young musicians — Yuva Sangeetotsava — will be held  Town Hall, Mangaluru on August 26 & 27, Saturday, Sunday.

The festival, organised by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and Mani Krishnaswamy Academy, will have 10 concerts. On the inaugural day -Aug 26, today, there will be a mandolin concert by Sadguna Aithal of Mangaluru, and vocal concerts by Aneesh V. Bhat and Shreya Kolathaya of Puttur.

The forenoon session on Aug 27, Sunday will feature vocal concerts by Usha H. of Manipal and D.S. Seethaprajna of Sringeri, and a keyboard concert by M. Shashank Bhat of B.C. Road. In the afternoon, there will be a vocal performance by Prajna Adiga of Udupi, a flute recital by Deepak Hebbar of Kundapura, and a vocal concert by Archana and Samanvi of Udupi. The festival will end with a flute concert by Krishna Pavan Kumar of Mangaluru.

The three-day Raga Sudha Rasa Sangeetotsava will be held at the same venue from November 3.
