Mangaluru, Sep 4,2017: The Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) has sought compliance report regarding 115 cases of human rights violation related to Dakshina Kannada.
During a review of cases here recently, KSHRC Secretary Madhu Sharma asked the departments concerned to file within a month the report complying orders passed by KSHRC that would help the Commission to close the case.
If some have already filed the reports, the same should be brought to the notice of KSHRC, she said. Ms. Sharma said among cases in which compliance report has not been filed include those related to 2008 and 2009.
The departmental heads should carefully read the orders passed by KSHRC and file the report.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kumar said of the 115 cases, 37 were related to the office of the Deputy Commissioner. There were 17 cases related to the office of the Superintendent of Police and 13 related to the office of the Police Commissioner.
Among the 48 other cases, eight related to the office of the Inspector General of Police (Western Range), seven related to the Mangaluru City Corporation, and two pertaining to office of the Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer.
There were a few cases against the District Health Officer, Joint Director of Agriculture, MESCOM, Deputy Director of Public Instruction, and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.
Ms. Sharma asked Mr. Kumar to compile the reports and submit it to the Commission within a month’s time.
