Bantwal, Nov 02, 2017: Parents of a 25-year-old youth, who died of a suspected heart attack in Bantwal on September 9, recently have alleged that he was murdered by his friends.  Victim’s brother has alleged that Dhananjaya’s friends forced him to have a drink allegedly laced with poison which resulted in death. He claimed that they tried to hush-up the incident claiming it as a heart attack.

Dhananjaya’s father, Chennappa Gowda, alleged that one of his son’s friend, Bharat C Chokkadi, had called him on September 9 and asked him to come to Puttur. Dhanajaya who was not keeping well that day left home in a car to meet him. "Around 5pm we got a call from Bharat informing us that my son is severely ill. When we reached Bantwal, they told us that he had died en route Kadaba-Uppinangady while on the way to hospital," said Chennappa at a media  conference on Nov 1, Wednesday.

He further alleged that when they reached the hospital, there were no clothes on his son’s body and it was muddy. "However, his friends Bharat, Ashok C, Pushparaj, Pramod Kadambila and Jeeth Divakar consoled us claiming it was a heart attack. We were in shock and trusting his friends we signed the hospital documents without verifications," added Chennappa.

The family has now filed a complaint in Kadaba police station demanding a thorough investigation into the death. They have also approached superintendent of police  Sudheer Kumar Reddy demanding investigations in the case further.
