Mangaluru, July 22, 2022: With the declaration by the Statutory Election Commission of India on July 21, 2022, Draupadi Murmu the front runner all along has secured expected victory and welcomed. The favoured accepted opinion on the potential President of India is positive change as common citizens have highlighted. A new trend in the changing India and for the whole world at large. This new age acceptance has interested many common citizens who never heard of the candidate and has compelled many political groups to surprisingly and unexpectedly extend support for her successful election. The President of the Republic of India ( Bhārat kē Rāṣṭrapati) is the head of state of the Republic of India. The president is the nominal head of the executive, as well as the commander-in-chief of the entire Indian Armed Forces. Ms. Draupadi Murmu, a lady, a dalit , identifiable withe a common Indian and simple, with strong credentials, aged 64 years, is the youngest to occupy this exalted office and is welcomed and popular too.
Ms. Draupadi Murmu has faced challenges and obstacles as a tribal lady. She has grappled with the tyranny of society and endured a string of personal tragedies and setbacks. Born June 20, 1958, in a Santali tribal family, in Baidaposi village of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha, a child of Biranchi Narayan Tudu. Both her father and grandfather were village heads under the Panchayati Raj system. Draupadi Murmu started out as a school teacher before entering state politics. MURMIJI completed her graduation from Rama Devi Women’s College in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. After working as an assistant professor at the Shri Aurobindo Integral Education and Research and as a junior assistant at the irrigation department of the government of Odisha. Ms. Draupadi’s husband Shyam Charan Murmu, a bank official, passed away in 2014. She was the mother of two boys, one of whom bore the name Laxman Murmu and passed away in 2013. In 2009, she lost her other son. She said in an interview that she struggled with depression after the deaths of her boys. She has one married daughter now.
She was an MLA from Rairangpur Assembly constituency in the years 2000 and 2004. Ms. Murmu was elected as the councillor of the Rairangpur Nagar Panchayat in 1997. She also served as the national vice-president of BJP Scheduled Tribes Morcha. During the BJP and Biju Janata Dal coalition government in Odisha, she was the Minister of State with Independent Charge for Commerce and Transport from March 6, 2000 to August 6, 2002 and Fisheries and Animal Resources Development from August 6, 2002 to May 16, 2004. She was conferred Nilkantha Award for best MLA by Odisha Legislative Assembly in 2007. She was the first woman Governor of Jharkhand. She was the first female adivasi leader from Odisha to get appointed as a governor of an Indian state. In June 2022, the BJP and ruling party nominated Ms. Murmu as the National Democratic Alliance’s candidate for President of India for the 2022 election the following month. Ms.Draupadi Murmu is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party - BJP. She is the official nominee of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance for the July 2022 presidential election. Ms. Murmu is the first governor of Jharkhand to complete the five year term. Ms. Murmu will also be the first president to be born after (1947) Independence, a free Indian.

Her understanding of policy matters and compassionate nature will greatly benefit our country. The BJP has always stressed that it is far different from the upper caste, upper class party that it is perceived to be and the choice of Ms. Murmu, belonging to the Adivasi community, a particularly marginal group in India, to be its choice for the next President of India is a big move in that direction."
